Irving House and the New Westminster Museum will be featuring a family oriented program about Victorian Valentines. With everything you’ll learn about the history of these treasured keepsakes, you will be inspired to make your own cards to send out to your friends and family. Who knows, you might even want to send one to Oana Capota the Museum’s new curator to tell her how much you LOVED your visit to this unique museum which has been a favourite place for locals and tourist to visit for many years.
Admission is by donation making this a location that is accessible to families on every budget. Your generous donations are greatly appreciated and go to support future programs and the maintenance of this historic gem of New Westminster. Visit Irving House from 1:00-3:00 Saturday and Sunday February 11-12 to take part in this delightful family event. When planning your day remember to leave enough time to visit the museum gift shop; there might be some special gift you would want to get for your sweetheart. If you plan to dine out for lunch or dinner that day remember to check out some of the cafes and restaurants in historic downtown New Westminster which is not far from Irving House. While February might be a little too early for picnicking, families might still find value in packing a thermos of hot chocolate and walking through one of New Westminster’s many beautiful parks. Tipperary Park, Friendship Gardens, and Queen’s Park are all within walking distance to Irving House and would be great places to visit on your way to or from the museum.
